Stunning Simple Snacks To Eat Between Thanksgiving Leftovers

Stunning Simple Snacks To Eat Between Thanksgiving Leftovers

Everyone loves a good Thanksgiving meal! Enjoying a well-prepared turkey with maple syrup and bacon is a delicious Canadian experience. The only problem is that traditional Thanksgiving recipes can be super caloric and full of fats! So it is important to have moderation.

For that reason, we came up with a list of easy healthy real food options to spice up your Thanksgiving day & keep snacking between your leftovers.

These snacks require little time to make, so if you’re a busy person you will love these. No more spending a whole week in the kitchen preparing for the holiday!

If you are inviting guests, these shockingly simple snacks will be perfect to keep everyone alive while they wait for the main course. On top of that, it is good to balance the diet with some wholefood snacks before the turkey, gravy and stuffing. This way, you get the best of both worlds! Even if you are a varsity athlete, you can still enjoy the Thanksgiving experience by eating healthy snacks.

The best part is that we encourage you to incorporate your own ingredients into these recipes, so if you would like to include some pumpkin spice or dried cranberries, all power to you! Let’s get making:

  1. Protein-rich Spinach Dip

Our first snack is an easy-to-make Spinach Dip. This recipe is especially uncomplicated if you have lots of guests as you can prepare one big bowl for everyone to dip into.

The best recipe we could find is the Spinach Dip 2.0, with half the calories and lots of protein! Head over to Healthy Eater to follow this recipe. For customization, we recommend including more vegetables to make it even better.

  1. Candied Bacon & Curried Cashews (OMNOMNOMNOM)

Our founder, Josh, loves this simple bar food. Don't mess around with your back; head straight to the deli counter and ask for 3-4 slices of old-fashioned thick cut smoked bacon.

We found a recipe online to share & a picture from our take on the recipe. Make sure that bacon is extra crispy!

  1. Themed Energy Balls

Energy Balls is our favourite thing! Ever! So for Thanksgiving, our suggestion is pecan pie flavoured energy balls using pecan nuts.

However, we know that you may not have the time to buy all the ingredients, so we recommend the Original MakerBars Kit as a base! Add about a handful of finely chopped pecan nuts as you mix it! Energy balls are one of the easiest recipes to customize.

Bonus! Gently dust the energy balls in some pumpkin spice to boost the flavour!

  1. Pimiento Cheese Crackers

For a spicier option, we recommend Pimiento Crackers, but beware: these may be combined with the Spinach Dip for a delicious meal.

  1. Maple Roasted Nuts

Roasted Nuts are simple to make, easy to customize and great for Thanksgiving. This tasty option takes five minutes to prepare and you will find yourself snacking on this very often!

The easiest recipe we know of is at Monday Sunday Kitchen!

“But nuts again?” Yes, we love nuts at MakerBars 😎.
